Emission Tomography (PET)
Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is an imaging technique that assists in the
diagnosis and management of many diseases. PET allows the physician to examine
the whole patient at once and PET can also detect tumors unseen by other imaging
techniques.
Diseases for which PET imaging is most commonly used to assist with diagnosis
include:
- Cancer
- Coronary Artery Disease
- Parkinson's Disease
- Epilepsy
- Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias
