More about Dr. Houghton: Dr. James Houghton, MD is an Internal Medicine physician with deep roots in Central Kansas. A McPherson native, Dr. Houghton earned his undergraduate degree in medical biochemistry and biology from Kansas State University, graduating cum laude, and went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He trained at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine.

After 12 years away, Dr. Houghton is thrilled to return home to serve the community that helped shape him. He has a passion for building long-term relationships with patients and enjoys the intellectual challenge of diagnosing and managing complex adult medical conditions. Outside of medicine, Dr. Houghton is a proud dad, fitness enthusiast, and loyal K-State fan.
