Hutchinson Clinic Welcomes Dr. G. Scott Voorman to Ear, Nose & Throat Department

Hutchinson Clinic is pleased to welcome Dr. G. Scott Voorman to its Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) Department. Dr. Voorman began seeing patients on January 5, 2026, bringing decades of experience and advanced surgical expertise to the Hutchinson community.

Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dr. Voorman earned his undergraduate degree from Calvin University before completing medical school at Loma Linda University in California. He completed an extensive and comprehensive residency at Loma Linda University, training in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, and Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, giving him a broad and highly skilled foundation in both medical and surgical care.

Dr. Voorman is board certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Alpha Omega Alpha, the Christian Medical and Dental Association, the Ventura County Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.

Clinically, Dr. Voorman has a strong focus on sinus surgery, including minimally invasive, office-based procedures for appropriately selected patients. He also has extensive expertise in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, often providing minimally invasive outpatient options when possible. In addition, he treats the full range of general ENT conditions, with particular experience helping patients with chronic cough and reflux-related disorders, especially those who have struggled to find answers elsewhere.

Dr. Voorman is known for his attentive, detail-oriented approach and his commitment to uncovering the root cause of both complex and everyday ENT problems.

“Ear, Nose and Throat is a remarkable specialty—we care for everyone, from infants to the elderly, addressing everything from simple concerns to serious issues like cancer, airway obstruction, or persistent bleeding,” said Dr. Voorman. “Because ENTs make up only a small fraction of all physicians, we see a true cross-section of people from every walk of life, which is one of the things I value most about this work.”

Outside of medicine, Dr. Voorman and his wife enjoy spending time outdoors with their children and grandchildren. They are avid skiers and waterskiers, enjoy hiking and backpacking in the Rockies, and in his spare time Dr. Voorman can often be found on the golf course at Prairie Dunes or at the trap and skeet range.
